Hello! I have been an in home full-time special needs caregiver for the past 5 years. Before that, I worked at a day center for developmentally disabled adults. There, I started as a CNA and worked my way up to running activities for the clients and doing case management work. I ran in house classes like cooking, pet therapy, art, music, and team games but also took groups of 5 to 10 clients out into the community to do things like swimming, hiking, and volunteering. During my time at the day center, I found that I have a passion and talent for working with individuals with developmental disability. I became a CNA while I was still in high school and worked part time in a nursing home my senior year and some summers when I came home from college so I do have experience working with neurotypical seniors as well as those with dementia.
