I have worked at Trellis, a school for students with autism and other related communication and behavioral disorders for over five years now. Special education has changed my life. I started the school as a one-to-one instructor, then became a lead instructor, and am now a program specialist. I do new-hire trainings, offer staff support, manage behaviors as necessary, and help to implement new protocols. The students are my very favorite humans in the world and have taught me so much about myself. My job is awesome because I also get to teach through play, and I get to receive/give all the hugs :)
