Just this past summer, I worked at a summer camp that offers summer camps (ages 8 to 22) who have learning disabilities, Attention Deficit Disorder/Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Asperger's Syndrome, and high-functioning autism. This summer was the most rewarding 3 months of my entire life! I felt that I really made and impact on the kids and once they got over the feeling of being home sick they had a blast. These kids honestly just wanted a place to go where they had friends and we offered that to them. Even though I had authority, I wanted them to be able to depend on me and be able to call me a friend as well at the end of the day. I received so many great friendships from these kids that I wouldn't trade for the world.
