Hello, My Name is Aleysun! I'm Autistic, have ADHD and am fully vaccinated against Covid-19. My experience is primarily first-hand as I am a multi-disabled, independent human. Executive dysfunction, hypersensitivity, and social isolation can be severely debilitating, but it doesn't have to be. I understand what it feels like, what it looks like, and everyday I am learning how to turn could-be problems into exciting and fun possibilities. I have experience with transforming self-injurious, harmful stimming into safe, useful stims. I'm also quite good at noticing when a meltdown or shutdown is building and helping adjust the environment to a less overstimulating atmosphere. Ultimately, what I can offer to Autistics like me isn't just care alone, but proper companionship and mentorship. Having a nanny/care support member with similar neurology as yourself does wonders for us as humans. To be seen is only valuable on the surface, to be understood is a deeply human experience.
