I worked part-time with an adult with cerebral palsy for over a year as a Direct Support Professional. Engaged in fun activities while also engaging in independent activities of daily living (IADLs) and activities of daily living (ADLs). I have experience with Hoyer lift and sliding board transfers, as well as help with dressing, bathing, cooking, driving an accessible van, and advocating with adults with disabilities. I currently work sporadically as a sighted guide for a Blind couple, where I assist with maneuvering inaccessible spaces and providing detailed and accurate descriptions of things we are seeing. I also personally have ADHD, so I have personal experience caring for people with ADHD.
