My dog is a French Bulldog and is not use to not being around someone at all time. He is left alone for maybe 4-6 hours at the most. He also has a spine injury so he has to be carried up and down stairs. He takes pain management meds 2x a day. He loves people and is good with other dogs and cats; however, I have not socialized him around small children and fear he would jump on them.
