About who needs care: My mom is physically, healthy, and very capable of walking and getting around. She can take a shower and get dressed and eat on her own if she has the meal made for her. She struggling with memory loss. We need 2 to 3 weekends a month covered. Hours would be 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 and 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. We have two offers. We can pay an hourly rate for someone to come in on those days.. or we have a beautiful one bedroom apartment across the hall from my mom with a large living room and remodeled kitchen, and that would be available As compensation for the care. Eight months would be two weekends and four months would be three weekends since some months are longer. About the care needs: I would like someone who is taking care of themselves physically and has a cheerful personality. Some experience with memory loss. Willingness to take mom for a drive or an ice cream cone. Is interested in added hours or days as needs increase. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
