About who needs care: My grandmother lives a three story townhome, but stays on the lower level. She has a hard time getting around, so she cannot climb the stairs. She currently has a physical therapist and a nurse that visits a few times throughout the week, and a old friend that is local and helps her with laundry, groceries, etc. She also receives one meal Monday-Friday from Meals on Wheels. She doesn't get out much. She has diabetes, so we are trying to get her to eat a diabetic diet. About the care needs: Someone that speaks softly and kindly, but can be stern when she needs to be. My grandmother does not respond well to someone using a harsh or demanding tone, and needs someone with patience. My grandmother wants to keep as much as her independence as possible, so a care giver that can support her. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
