About who needs care: Mom has vascular dementia and is confused easily. She is recovering from surgery and has a catheter and wears a pull-up just in case for her bowel movements. She likes to talk about the old times, music she likes, her family that has passed. She needs to walk, using her rollator, a few times per shift. I'd like to get some breaks where she does more than watch tv. About the care needs: An outgoing woman who is maybe over 35 or 40 would be a good match. She needs to be coachable, and be willing to learn some behavioral techniques used when dealing with a dementia patient. Must be willing to physically assist with toileting. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
