About who needs care: paraplegic, can not stand or walk or transfer to power wheelchair, will need help with personal care, sponge bath, hair wash, getting dressed and transfer to wheelchair. Once in the morning and then return from chair to bed in the evening. I am a Science teacher at a private school. I oil paint and have had my paintings shown in art galleries and win awards. About the care needs: After becoming paralyzed, there is so much I have lost control over in my life. it helps to have someone that has a positive and uplifting outlook. The one area I need to have a say about is my personal care, the way things are done and what makes me comfortable. I am looking for someone who is willing to think "outside the box" to get things done. I also need someone who is punctual, reliable, dedicated, and won't just leave me stuck in bed or left in my chair. Services needed include: bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
