About who needs care: My Father has a grade 4 brain tumor and is degrading mentally and physically. He additionally has a fractured neck and is mobility impacted. My mother is at home with him but is spread very thin. She needs help with daily home task along with the request that she can leave to run errands. We need a person who can handle repetitive conversation with my father and walk him through the medications he has to take. My father is content playing his virtual card game and listening to music. He's not able to carry conversation but likes to talk about things. He needs a good listener. About the care needs: We need a person who can speak clearly, native English is preferred. A very patient person is necessary as my father has a tendency to become frustrated and irritable. Someone with a PT or medical background would be a bonus. This person should be comfortable being quiet when needed, but be conversational if that moment occurs. This person needs to have a sense of humor and be able to laugh and joke as that makes my dad happy. We also would like a person who's confident and takes initiative to do other things around the home without always being directed however, being able to take direction and change task easily. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, and light housekeeping.
