About who needs care: Mom is a resident of nursing home in North Wales, PA. She is confined to her bed or in a wheelchair due to her broken hip. She is Filipino, loves her sweet treats (that are easy to chew and swallow), very religious (Catholic) and enjoys having flowers and plants in her room. I live in Massachusetts and, though my 2 sisters live nearby nursing home, they are often too busy with their owns lives to visit Mom regularly. I would like someone to visit Mom once a week (Sunday's) for share her interests (music, Filipino food, God/Jesus), provide companionship and water her flowers and plants. About the care needs: Preferably Filipina, very patient (Mom has some dementia and hard of hearing) and sense of humor. If caregiver can bring Filipino or Chinese sweets or pastries for Mom to enjoy - even better! Services needed include: companionship.
