About who needs care: My husband was diagnosed with ALS 3 1/2 years ago. We would like 4 hours a day 3 days a week, ideally weekdays between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. while I am working, but that is flexible. He needs assistance with feeding, stretching, and toileting. Mostly with urination, but occasionally with bowel movements. We do have an electric Hoyer lift, hospital, bed, and he has an electric wheelchair. His meals are premade so theres a minimal cooking besides heating up in the microwave. Also, I work at home, so I, so I am able to assist as needed.
About the care needs: My husband is pretty easy-going and gets along with everyone. He does like to watch a lot of movies, so if you are a movie buff that would be great. Also, it would be helpful to know how to use the Hoyer lift, but not necessary. I can show you. It is pretty easy. I can also show you the stretching exercises which are very easy.
Services needed include: feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
