About who needs care: We need someone to be with my mom so that we have more time to enjoy our lives. Monday and Wednesday's will have a set time, but the other days need to be flexible. My mom, Eleanor, just turned 89. She is able to dress herself and use the bathroom. She recently was put on oxygen so I no longer feel comfortable leaving her at home alone. In addition she has Parkinson. She has tremors, stiffness, weakness and some drooling from the disease. At this stage her mind is forgetful at times, but not delusional. She is kind and fun to be around. About the care needs: Someone with a down to earth and kind natured would be a good fit for my mom. As far as skills; having experience with individuals with Parkinson would be helpful. Specific hobbies or interests isn't needed, but she loves to play cards. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, and mobility assistance.
