About who needs care: Pretty healthy for an 88-year-old male. No assistance currently needed for mobility. Smokes in the house. Has a dog with anxiety issues but he is harmless, Mini schnauzer. Sleeps until at least 1-2 p.m. Plays bridge once a week on Friday evenings. Still drives - very limited. Takes meds for diabetes, BP, Afib, general heart issues, kidneys. He has AMD and struggles to read/see well. Plays on computer every day. Not super active. Very right leaning politically. Watches news nightly. Goes to bed around 11 p.m. Wakes up between 7-10 a.m. for about an hour to cook a breakfast sandwich, take meds, and let dog out and then goes back to bed. About the care needs: He is pretty intelligent. Forgets things/lacks the interest in details - so someone that can share things with me that he can't. Should be right leaning politically! No big desire for male or female but I'm guessing he would prefer female company. Someone who can clean a little to keep the place livable would be nice. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
