We're looking to add a long-term, weekend aide for my 86-year-old father. He has early/mid stage dementia, primarily affecting short-term memory. He takes three pills daily for blood pressure. He's able to get around, bathe himself, etc. He considers himself "fiercely independent" so he can resist help at first, so you'll need to be somewhat adaptive to his demeanor, prioritizing his independence.
Tasks include heating up a meal, sitting and chatting with him while he eats, feeding his dog, and taking both of them for a walk. We have an aide who comes Mon-Fri and our ideal candidate will have flexibility to cover if she's out sick or needs to take vacation during the weekdays. A flexible personality, good communication, and a sense of humor are essential.
Services needed: meal prep, light housekeeping, and companionship.
