About who needs care: My father is 97 years old and is a resident in an assisted living facility. Mentally he is pretty much all there and until recently he has been completely independent with no services at the assisted living home. He still manages his own medications, but he has slowed down considerably within the last month to the point where he has difficulty walking any distances. He uses his walker in his apartment but is transported via wheelchair to his meals and activities. His vision is also somewhat compromised where he is no longer able to read. He/we would like to find someone to spend some afternoons with him. Maybe on nice days take him outside for fresh air, help him with small tasks in his apartment like putting his laundry away, helping him find new audiobooks to listen to on his iPad, take short walks to help him build up his strength (he just started PT) engage in conversations. Things like that. About the care needs: Looking for a kind, compassionate, nurturing patient person. My father has a huge heart, but is very set in his ways. We would like to find someone who wants to help out an elderly sweet man. Services needed include: companionship.
