About who needs care: Memory is his biggest weakness. He can walk with the aid of his walker, goes to the bathroom himself, is continent, but his eyesight is poor. His hearing is impaired but we have devices that resolve that problem. We have a very set routine that helps him deal with his situation, watching specific shows over and over works well. He feeds himself but you must prepare it for him. He likes to talk to you a little too. His whole routine needs to be familiar to help him. Even still, some days he has confusion. His temperament is easygoing. Hes quite relaxed in general. About the care needs: Not too lively, relaxed, friendly, a warm personality. Experience with people who are much older would be the major requirement. For overnight also someone who will sleep lightly as to hear him if he is confused and needs direction. And of course extremely reliable people who I can feel confident leaving alone in our home. Patience also is a general requirement for this type of work. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
