About who needs care: My daughter is an active -year-old woman with developmental disabilities who lives in downtown Durham., enjoys dance and swimming and uses a wheelchair. She needs some assistance with showering, dressing, hygiene, meal preparation, light housekeeping, some meds assistance, and occasional driving with her in her van to appointments or shopping. JD prefers people who are friendly, dependable, physically fit, honest, use common sense, and have a sense of humor. Previous experience helpful, but not necessary. Must be 18 or older, have HS diploma or equivalent, have current driver's license and willing to submit to background check. Paid training period and flexible hours for the right person. Day shift -F 9 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. available ASAP. Also available: fill in for evening shifts and weekends. Sign on bonus available after (paid) training and orientation period. About the care needs: Extroverted, good sense of humor, enjoys getting out and about, taking walks, swimming. Must be reasonably fit to help push wheelchair when client is on a hill, help with transfers onto shower chair etc. Should know how to cook. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
