About who needs care: He is mostly immobile and is in a lift chair or bed throughout the day. He sleeps in a hospital bed and we have a hoyer lift for moving him from bed to wheelchair and to lift chair. He can feed himself, but is completely incontinent and needs his liner in his pullup changed every 3 to 4 hours daily. He has had strokes and so even though he understands what you are saying he can't give very long responses (only a few word answers). We need someone to come stay with him a couple of days a week to give a reprieve for his caretaker. About the care needs: Caretaker would need to feel comfortable using a hoyer lift if needed. But usually can use the chair lift with a walker to have him stand to pull out liner from pullup. Would need to fix him lunch and just monitor him. He mostly just watches TV, looks at picture books, or works puzzles all day, or snoozes in his chair. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
