About who needs care: Lost hearing completely in one ear. needs walker to move around. has Parkinsons- mostly shaky hands when doing motor skills. Takes care of his own needs mostly- but bad at eating regularly or eating properly- he needs most help there. Most House cleaning, pill organizing done by others. Getting close to the point where he needs help with trimming hair/shaving. needs help putting pants on but probably already taken care of most of the time. Also diabetic. Evening time flexible - just want someone there to be sure /prepped dinner- he eats it and takes his pills, and maybe grooming help once in a while. About the care needs: Dad was born in Austria, immigrated to Australia and Canada before the US. Mom passed away last year. Can be quite picky with regard to what he eats- so someone experienced with handling those situations is best. He was a tool and die maker- owned own company at one point, shop manager for good deal of time and did secondary house construction, car restoration in spare time. Not being able to do those things any more does frustrate him. when you know him- he is actually quite funny and can joke about things. Unfortunately, these days, not as much. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
