My mother is 80 years old and has developed rapid-onset dementia. In addition to dementia symptoms, my mom has some physical challenges related to her mobility, such as dizziness. I live in Colorado, but my two sisters are in Michigan. My mom lives full time with my sister and her family. My sister works full time, M-W-F from home and T-Th outside the home. We are seeking a companion-type caregiver 3-5 days per week in a long-term arrangement. The right person will establish a relationship with my mom based on trust and help keep my mom engaged and occupied while providing household services to assist my sister. We will require this person to become trained of dementia care. NOTE: I posted this position a few months ago but we had to put it on hold. We are now ready to proceed with a start date the week of April 29.
