Our 75-year-old father, who is just over 275 pounds and nearly 6ft tall, can only walk about 100 steps with his walker. He needs assistance around the house & showering, spotting when going down 3 stairs in garage, driving to appointments/errands, and doing his PT. We're hoping to rebuild his strength & stamina so he can get a knee replacement in the fall and return to a more self-reliant lifestyle. He lives with our mother who has her own helper, but we're looking for an able-bodied male to help dad 3 days/week, for 3-4hrs each visit. He wakes up late, usually takes a while to get out of his sleeping recliner, makes his way to the kitchen table where he does work and sometimes tries to travel down to the basement (using his chair lift) for work on his computer and printer.
