About who needs care: This is for my mother. She lives at home with her husband who has his own business. She has dementia/Alzheimers. She requires a lot of sleep, but days she sleeps until the early-mid afternoon. It would be better if she was up a little earlier and getting some activity/engagement/exercise/productivity. Ideally, we would like somebody with her from Noon- 6 p.m. on weekdays. Someone to get her up and dressed. Help her make something to eat. She needs some physical activity so taking her for a walk would be great and/ or taking her to swim. She is very happy, peaceful, and kind. Her husband works from home when he's not on job sites; and his office is next to the house, so theres always other people around. But she needs somebody focused on her. Right now her days are pretty wasted and that needs to change. During those hours, I would love for her to get some physical activity, have a routine that makes her feel productive, and doing activities that are engaging- going to a movie, running simple errands, even calling family & friends - which doesnt occur to her to do anymore. About the care needs: Somebody gentle and patient. My mother does not get angry or frustrated, but she does ask the same questions over and over again. Somebody with some memory care experience would be ideal. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
