About who needs care: I am doing research for a couple who are my neighbors. Their children are not providing the care and assistance they are needing. The man is 96 who has been very healthy and still is except for having severe hip pain. He has been working with specialist but not receiving relief, he si currently using a walker. The lady will turn 91 next month and is also having issues from 2 previous falls, one with each hip which were mended with metal plates. Hip replacements were not options for neither of them. They have both been very active and have been able to take care of their needs until now. They are very private but due to their health at this time they need some assistance. Either one of them would fall and need assistance. They need someone to take them to doctors appts and etc. Im looking for options to present to them as neither are computer literate. About the care needs: He is a retired military pastor, so a Christian is needed. They currently have house cleaners come in once a month, so some light housekeeping would be required with some cooking. The lady lost Ill likes to cook some but has days when she is in to much pain to do it. She also has a weak heart so she does sleep a lot. She loves to do crafts and read. He has always been very active around the house but is unable to do so now. They need companionship. Children do not come around as much as needed. They currently bath and dre3ss theirselves but this could change at any minute. He has doctors in Sebring and hers are Lake Wales and Winter Haven. She loves to get out of the house to do some light shopping on her good days which I currently take her, we always include a lunch out, but ill be moving in the near future out of state. So, it would be great for her to have someone who would do this with her as long as she can. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
