About who needs care: My mother is 89 years old and will be coming from India to live us in DC around mid-June. She is mentally very alert, and her memory is pretty good. She needs physical mobility assistance - such as being assisted to the toilet, taking a bath, using a wheelchair etc. While she had many interests as a professional teacher these days, she's content to watch TV and read some books. Ideal day: Wake up early - have a cup of coffee with some cookies. Light breakfast - oatmeal or Indian style breakfast. Late lunch around 3-4 p.m. - Indian style meals - mostly soft foods. Light soups/ fruit juices. Light supper - cocoa or protein shake. In between she tends to take naps, read messages on her phone, talk to friends/ family. She might wake up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. About the care needs: Of Indian background or familiarity with Indian families, culture, food etc. Fluency in English a must. My mother is fluent in English and couple of Indian languages - Hindi & Tamil. Someone who can converse and keep her company. Someone who cares Services needed include: feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
