Seeking a personal care assistant for our 86-year-old parents. They're currently mobile, having their own car, & are still somewhat socially active. They both shower, dress themselves, take care of their home & occasionally go out to dinner/ see friends. We would like someone who can drive them to multiple Dr appointments, take notes, & drive them where else they would like to go. They would have to impress upon them that they need to get out of the house more often & gently push & encourage them to do so. Activities like walking in the park, shopping, playing "brain games" , day trips to places, anything other than watching tv all day. We hope this person will develop a close relationship with our parents & eventually become somewhat of a companion, with a mutual fondness & respect for all parties involved.
