Matthew's Music Lessons (Guitar, Drum, Orchestral, Piano, Song Writing)
by Taylor Robinson Music
Chula Vista, CA
Years of Experience: 3 Location Options: In Studio, In Home Travel Radius: 35 Genres: Rock, Blues, Jazz, Classical Age Groups: Children, Young Adult, Adult Instruments Taught: Bass Guitar Lessons,Drum Lessons,Keyboard and Piano Lessons,Song Writing Lessons,Orchestral Lessons Overview: I've always enjoyed the idea that teachers are meant to inspire their students, not just give them a packet and say "go." This is something I put forward in my own teaching by creating a fun environment that caters to each students needs as a person, not just a client. Formal Education: I have been a musician for about eight years and an instructor for two. I have played drum set for all, with various instruments such as cello, trombone, and piano added in as I collect experience in each area of musicality. I have also taken several classes involving the study of music, as well my own experience with music theory as a musician, and Drum Major, of my high school marching band, and first chair cello of its orchestra. Private Education: Most of learning on instruments has been self taught with various forms of instruction from my high school music directory, who taught me everything I know about teaching as well. Performing Experience: Since I became a musician I have performed with my own music groups, while also performing with high school and college organizations, whose genres include Rock, Jazz, Classical, and many others. Some of the venues I have played include various high schools, two performances at the House of Blues in San Diego, community concerts, and countless parades. Experience Teaching: Officially, I have only been an instructor (Assistant Band Director) for about 2 years. However, my experience in teaching reaches back about four years when I first began teaching my high school Orchestra about basic warm-ups (it was a rough time for the school). By the end of it, I decided I wanted to do more, so I became Drum Major of the marching band, where I did even more teaching; and finally, the Assistant Director, where I instruct the students about marching, tuning, warm ups, proper playing posture, etc. and enjoy doing it so much I have decided to major in the study of music, and music education. -Reviews- Name: Priscilla Romero Date: 2016-05-16 01:54:21 Title: AWESOME! Body: Matt is a great teacher, he is very easy to approach and ask questions to. No matter what, I leave the lesson knowing a little more about my instrument and how to play it. Name: Hector rivera Date: 2016-05-18 20:31:14 Title: Excellence Body: Matt is a very patient and passionate teacher. He has been giving my son drum lessons for the past year and my son really looks forward to his lessons and has developed a love for music.

While at school, he was receiving guitar lessons from two of the top guitarists in the Los Angeles area, Ron Eschete and Michael Higgins. Where they are: Children are ready to embark on a classroom experience without their adults by their side. They are ready to develop early literacy skills; collaborate and negotiate with their peers; and learn ways to communicate, cooperate and play together. What to expect in class: A playful twist on a traditional preschool/pre-k class. Children will develop the fundamental skills necessary for reading and writing as we explore letter recognition, phonics, sight words, spelling, and comprehension. They will build social skills during Gathering Time, while exploring the dayâs fun and imaginative theme, and during Show and Share. Children will learn decision-making skills and build fine motor skills during our station play, and expand their creativity through art. The learning will extend to the home with printable âLiteracy Kitsâ, with letter and theme-based worksheets. We will help prepare them for a lifetime love of school, classrooms, and learning.
