Through playing euphonium, guitar, and singing, Aaron has visited several states to progress the art-form in many different ways. While attending Indian River State College Aaron, as a music major, taught at a local music store, and was the assistant Jazz band director for a local middle school. At this same time he started his self-titled acoustic rock project which played together for three years, playing many concerts and releasing a CD of Aaron's self-composed songs. Now in Tampa, Aaron is a music education major at the University of South Florida. At USF he is active as the principal Euphonium player in the Wind Ensemble, Drum Major for the Herd of Thunder Marching Band, and a brother of the men's national music fraternity Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. Aaron holds a Associate in Arts Degree in Music from Indian River State College, and his private lesson instructors include Jay Hunsberger (Sarasota Orchestra), and Carlyle Webber (U.S Army Field Band). I have also attended many clinics on music and music education such as the Florida Music Educators Conference and the South Eastern Tuba/Euphonium Conference. Performing Experience: I have played with many wind band/college ensembles, and have sat principal for both the Indian River State College and the University of South Florida Wind Ensembles. I have played as a substitute with many professional bands including the Brassband of Central Florida. I have sung with chamber and large choral groups and I have also played in rock/punk bands in Virginia and Florida. Experience Teaching: I taught music lessons (guitar, drums, brass, keys, vocals) at JAM Music in Port St. Lucie for two years. In my time there I also was the assistant director and later director for the Southern Oaks Middle School Jazz Band. I am a 22yo vocalist from Gonzales, Louisiana, now residing in Tampa, FL! Coming from a musically inept family, I was entranced by music at an early age, putting on performances for my family as a child! I joined band in 6th grade on the trumpet and found my love for singing when I was 12! I joined a church choir when I was 14 and began to learn songwriting. I continued to play in band throughout high school with some choir participation before going to college for Vocal Performance where I had classical training. After moving to Florida, I continued to learn techniques in other genres such as pop, rock, metal, and soul! I am currently in a rock band! I am a childcare worker and learned to teach young children music fundamentals and encourage a creative outlet! I provide a judgment-free environment with a focus on expression, breathing, theory fundamentals, and healthy singing technique including classical, belting, and screaming. Students love my bright personality, eccentric style, out-of-the-box thinking, and patience, often inspiring people of all ages to express the full range of their creativity in all of the arts! I also specialize in teaching neurodivergent individuals, being one myself! All ages are welcome! I am a musician born from a family of musicians. I have been a student of music for 6 years. Some of my biggest musical influences include Thelonious Monk and I also enjoy Bill Evans along with Jimi Hendrix. My teaching style can best be described as thorough and willing to explain concepts from different perspectives. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I truly believe every student at any musical level willing to learn has incredible untapped musical potential. In my lessons, you can expect to expand your knowledge of many different guitar playing styles, techniques, and how to apply both to music composition if requested. I like to tell my students that studying music is like studying a new language, with effort and willingness anyone can do it!
