    Lubbock, TX

Years of Experience: 15 Location Options: In Home, In Webcam Travel Radius: 21 Genres: Rock, Blues, Jazz, Classical, Country, Acoustic, Christian, RB, Gospel, Pop Age Groups: Adult Instruments Taught: Guitar Lessons,Bass Guitar Lessons,Song Writing Lessons Overview: Hi, my name is William / Bill, and I am a professional guitarist and bassist from Lubbock, TX. I have been a student of music for more than 35 years. My musical influences include Eric Clapton, Lindsey Buckingham, David Gilmore and George Benson and I also enjoy all new styles of Rock, Blues and Country. My teaching style can best be described as very instructive and fun and I love to instruct students in a variety of different styles and techniques that assist with live playing and recording original material. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I love all kinds of music and love to see students grow into exceptional players, performers and recording artists. In my lessons, you can expect to learn basic, intermediate and advanced skill sets that help your playing soar to new levels. You can expect to learn your favorite songs and add creative styles to enhance each and every composition and performance. I like to tell my students that personal passion is key to opening any musical door and with dedication, they can create an atmosphere of fun and joy in every chord, riff and melody they make. My favorite thing about teaching is getting to know my students and experiencing what musical influences and ideas they have in playing style and what excites them about the guitar. Also, I love to witness a student achieving goals and dreams that they thought were previously too difficult or unattainable. It is simply amazing to see students excelling to a level they thought they would never achieve and then soaring beyond. My favorite performance was witnessing a student gain a triumphant command over performing live and dazzling audiences with personal achievements never thought possible. My students love that I am plugged into every style, tone and idea that is cutting edge. Not only looking at the basic mechanics, I love to engage students with their influences and teach things that motivate them form their own personal musical experiences. I primarily teach guitar method and the theory behind critical techniques in all styles, but I can also teach contemporary fun music from the student's personal choices that tie the two together. This creates a fun learning atmosphere that enhances student motivation to continue to try new ideas constantly. My approach as a teacher is to motivate students to learn the foundations of core music, but to apply that learning to their own musical style and technique. Thanks so much for taking a look at my profile and I hope to meet you very soon, and remember to keep on playing always! -Education- Degree: English/Creative Writing School: Texas Tech University Dates: 1995-09 Degree: Master's Education School: Texas Tech University Dates: 2004-12 Degree: Master's Education School: Texas Tech University Dates: 2004-12 Degree: Master's Education School: Texas Tech University Dates: 2004-12
