Full Or Part-Time Babysitter/Nanny — Maple Lake, MN
I grew up in a close knit family, which means I grew up constantly babysitting cousins and family friends. After eight years in the finance world, I went back to school and got my Associate's degree. Even while working in a bank environment, I found that I loved working with kids. I did volunteer work at schools and day camp. I decided to follow to actually start doing what I love. The classes I elected to take where focused on Human Services and Child Development. Then, I moved to Duluth, MN and got married. So I am now continuing on the education path and pursuing my bachelor's in Early Childhood Education. Being a nanny is such a privilege and has been a rewarding career while going back to school I really enjoy working with kids, and being a nanny is such a great privilege. I love that you get to form bonds with the kids you work with, and really help to teach them. I believe it is important to incorporate a variety of activities that encourage reading, playing outside and learning. For example, I love to bring kids into the kitchen with me. It is a fun way to get get interested in eating healthy kids - they aren't nearly as picky about veggies when they cooked them themselves! Plus it introduces them to reading, fractions, listening and following directions. A normal day includes a variety of activities - science experiments, craft time, reading books, dance parties, treasure hunts, etc.! Mixing fun events with learning activities is very important to me. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Care — Maple Lake, MN
My name is Maria, I live in Maple Lake area, I am a freshman student at a college in Atchison and I am looking for a nanny position for the 2014 summer break. I enjoy the outdoors, playing sports, creative writing, painting, drawing, and spending time with family and friends. Being the second eldest in a family of seven children, my whole life has been an experience including children. I started watching my younger siblings around the age of 12 when my mother would run errands. As I got older and more comfortable taking care of children, my mother's friends would ask me to watch their children as well. Since the age of 13, I have babysat for many of family friends and other families that I have been referred to. I've nannied the past two summers, the most recent was a family of three enthusiastic boys and two energetic girls who were a ton of fun! I enjoyed cooking meals, driving them to sporting events, doing housework, playing games, going to the beach, park, science museum, and reading with the kids. Aside from nannying and babysitting, I have had a lot of unpaid experience with children as well. I have obtained volunteer experience at summer Church camps, helped with the middle school Track and Cross Country programs, peer tutoring, Friends of Rachel Club, the Boys and Girls Club in Kansas, and I also babysit twin boys throughout the school year near Benedictine where I attend school. For the past 5 years I have been a camp counselor for middle school at summer church camps and because I am a certified nursing assistant, last summer I was a part of the Nursing Team. I am also a member of Coreteam, a teen leadership group at my church, the Coreteam's job is to plan activities and events for middle school and elementary students. During high school, I was unable to run Track and Cross Country my senior year so I volunteered to help with the Junior high Track and Cross Country teams. Throughout my senior year I peer tutored mainly seventh and eighth students in math and English but I also helped a few sophomore and junior students. When I was a Junior I was asked to be in the Friends of Rachel Club at Maple Lake High school. Every Friday while studying at Benedictine, I go to the local Boys and Girls Club to play games, help with homework, and talk with the young children. It has been a wonderful experience, to help and connect with the kids while having an enormous amount of fun! Another opportunity I have had already this year has been to babysit 7-month-old twin boys in their home once a week. Working with children of all ages and personalities has helped me grow in fortitude and allows me to share in their passion for life. As a caregiver, I am very flexible with hours and work requirements. I am available on weekends and I can do everything from laundry to cooking meals if needed. I have experience with children of all ages and I am very easy to get along with! Give me a call if you're interested!
