We have two categories of caregivers. Our first, Certified Dementia Practioners are specially trained, tested and then certified through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practioners. Members in this category must demonstrate at least two years of previous experience working with elders living with dementia. From there they must pass a National Criminal Back ground check as well as having glowing references from past employment. Our selection process is highly competitive and if selected to join our team, they receive our in-house, proprietary CareAware Training Program and must demonstrate superior competency before being permitted to participate in the Certified Program. These professionals must maintain the highest level of ongoing continuing education to keep their certificate.
Our remaining Care Team Members, Memory Care Specialists are folks who have completed the same competitive selection process and have completed CareAware. They receive additional experience via the Alzheimer's Association training in preparation for one day, being selected to CDP training. These folks must complete not less then 15 hours of continuing education focused on dementia each year.
