I am 31and I am enjoying every minute of getting a bit older! I have been caring for children since I was 12 years old and started working as a professional nanny/household manager when I was 17. I am also the owner of a nanny related business. I am a member of INA as well and going for the 2015 Nanny of the Year Award. I have my Stars certification and completed the following courses like Brain Development, Infant Care, ADD, Outdoor Safety, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, Food Allergies, Oral Health, Positive Guidance and Shaken Baby Syndrome, Promoting Speaking and Listening Skills, Children and Divorce and Promoting Empathy and other "Prosocial" Behaviors. I have completed the basic skills exam from the INA with a 100% score and soon taking the credential exam. In addition to all this, I take classes and seminars based around parenting and read the latest parenting books. I have also completed the National Nanny Training Day in San Diego in 2013. I truly love my job as it is a passion of mine and have made my profession. I love being around kids as it brings out the kid in me. My CPR and First Aid card just expired but I am renewing them soon. I do speak some Spanish and pick up more everyday, enough to teach body parts, numbers, animals, other objects, song's and basic phases.
My objective is to offer families the best and complete care for their children with love, nourishment, and guidance and to make sure the health, well being, education and safety of the children are never jeopardized. I undertake all tasks related to the care of the entire household. I support children by providing physical, social, emotional, creative and intellectual play to ensure proper development. I always maintain good, open communication with parents including a daily journal and photo updates of their children throughout the day.
Why am I qualified to take care of your children? Well for one, I am very experienced and treat the kids as if they were my own. I have the ability to connect with kids. They tend to come to me. I pride myself on providing quality care for the children I nanny and creating a safe and fun atmosphere that nurtures their learning, creativity, and growth. I am loving, nurturing, bursting with energy. I always put the safety of the children first. I promise you won't be disappointed and I always go above and beyond. I have glowing written references that give you a good sense about myself.
I can't live without at the moment are my dogs, coffee, my running shoes that can get dirty, laptop and books (I am known to finish a book in a couple of days)! I'm really good at being Mary Poppins, living life to the fullest, being adventurous, having fun, being organized, enjoying the moment, falling asleep within a few minutes after laying down, being a good friend and granddaughter and giving back! I spend a lot of time thinking about how I can make a difference, how I can impact others and the next fun adventure! I live by this quote "One person can make a difference and everyone should try".
What am I looking for in a position? A caring family where I can let my teaching abilities shine. I am looking for the perfect fit where I will be a part of the family. I desire a position where the parents appreciate everything I do for them. I am also looking for a position that is no more then 4 days a week as I need a day or two to work on my business. I am looking to be paid legally with holiday pay and accrued vacation days!
I would be more then happy to email you my portfolio if you provide me with your email address!
