ANGEL'S HAND CARE HOME LLC We moved our mom into this care home from a place in Napa CA, that was more expensive AND (I found out later) was using medical restrains onmom (who was NOT combative) and she had bed sores due to not moving enough! She was barely communicative. In ONE WEEK the bedsore was gone! pictures were taken to prove it! The hospice nurse had warned us that these sometimes NEVER heal up. ONE WEEK and their expert and loving care healed her up. The caregiver considered it his job to not just feed and clean, but also to stimulate her mind. I would show up unannounced and find her doing different activities, coloring, looking at a photo album, reading a book, .... I visited, but not regularly, 2--3 times a week until her passing. She regained her cognitive abilities to comprehend, recognize people, and speak appropriately to show she understood, although it was not a lot of words or long sentences.
When I originally asked, what are visiting hours? "This is YOUR home, you may come at any hour day or night." I always felt welcome. Sometimes I had to wait for the door to be unlocked, if I happened to catch them changing mom... If someone else was there to open the door - I was asked to wait, so as not embarrass mom. She clearly was at ease & comfortable with the caregiver.
When we first brought mom there, they greeted us, "Welcome Home" It was so sweet and so dear.
I'm just sorry we didn't find them sooner. They have been absolutely awesome in their care.
The Nurse from St. Mary's Hospice said to me, "I have never seen such thorough and consistent care as Carmelo gives. It is quite impressive/amazing" I would agree. My mom was always a pleasant person, I feel she was lovingly cared for up to day last. I am so grateful. ... read more
