After School Club

60 Forest Park Road, Woburn, MA

Costimate: $251/wk

The After School Club is a joint ministry of two Woburn churches, the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer and the United Methodist Church. It was created in response to expressed community needs for additional after school care that is both superior in quality and affordable in price. The program is Christian in values but non-denominational. It stresses the values of responsibility, service, love, and care for each other, and acceptance of diversity.

During the school year, the program is open to children in grades K-8. During the summer, the program is open to grades K-7.

The activities offered by the After School Club fulfill a twofold need. For working parents, the program answers the question of where their child will be during the after school hours by providing a safe, stimulating environment. For the child, it fulfills the needs to be part of a group, to enjoy recreation, and to learn new skills.

Participants in this program are in an environment which is structured and supervised, but provides opportunities for individual choice. Outdoor play is encouraged on the 10-acre site. There are times for snacks and homework, as well as arts and crafts, music, cooking, special enrichment programs, board games, service projects, and field trips.

During daily reading time, the children read books of their own choosing, at their reading level. Each child is encouraged to bring a book with him or her, but there will always be a wide variety of reading materials available at the After School Club. Older children sometimes read to younger non-readers during this time, and the time is recorded by those older children who wish to turn in the minutes so spent for Y.E.S. (Youth Engaged in Service) credit in the Woburn Public Schools.
We offer care a day at a time. Our after school, summer and drop in programs offer the flexibility that families need. Sign up for the days you need!

Preschool Social Academy

50 Cross St., Winchester, MA

Costimate: $220/wk

The Preschool Social Academy offers a professionally designed, thematic curriculum; complete with lesson plans, assessments, portfolios and newsletters for parents to use as a guide.

Children learn through hands on play and structured activities in our well organized learning centers. Our classroom is organized into "learning environments." These are the places within our classroom where the children can find the toys and materials related by theme, interest, and skills. These activities and toys can be used independently by the children, socially with others, or with teacher direction, to reinforce and enrich skills and concepts they need. Learning environments are an excellent way to individualize the curriculum to meet the varying needs of young children.

PSA has won first place in the Best Of Winchester Guide 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015!!

After attending an open house to meet all of the teachers, viewing each classroom, and filling out and turning in our application with a small application fee, we were so pleased to be accepted! The process was simple! My son enjoyed his time at PSA! We loved all of the outside time, fun theme related activities and interactions with teachers! My son especially loved the special activities planned for each day, especially the face painting and having a lemonade stand! It is great that they have their own kitchen and chef! I loved how my son got to try new healthy foods and how it saved me time that would have been used to pack one! Also seeing his friends eating the same healthy lunch helped my picky eater try more! I would definately recommend this school to anyone looking for a fun learning experience!

As a licensed family daycare provider, I offer a unique blend of over 30 years of experience with children. Growing up in a family daycare in my parent's home, the love for children has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Now, as a mother of an amazing daughter and a loving son, I know that there's no price tag on finding the best care for your child. As a parent, peace of mind is priceless.

My goal is to provide a warm and nurturing environment for infants - toddlers. Through adult and peer interaction, as well as creative activities, children reach their individual social, emotional and physical milestones naturally. Strong bonds are formed that will last long after each child has moved on from the daycare.

I'm a certified Child Light Children's Yoga & Mindful Meditation Instructor, and a Reiki Practitioner. I practice calm energy in my everyday life This positive energy naturally emanates from children creating a happy daycare environment.

I've recently served on Lexington Public School's SEPAC Board assisting parents with resources for their children with special needs, I'm a former member of the PTA in the Lexington School system, and a member of various children's organizations such as Children & Adults with ADD (CHADD), as well as Learning Disabilities Association of America (LDA).
