I have a CDA which was earned through the Head start program. My Early Childhood Education class work was earned from Lesley College, Mass Bay Community College, Middlesex Community and Bunker Hill Comm. College. (As a young mom working and attending classes.)
In High School, I won the very 1st Early Childhood Education awarded at Cambridge Rindge and Latin school for grades abstained in the field going above and beyond what was expected. I was hired by the Cambridge school Dept after graduation.

Taught a lot Childcare is a second family to my children. They have provided a safe , loving and educational experience to my children for over 5 years. I can honestly say my children are more advanced socially, physically and intellectually than children of my family and friends and I absolutely contribute it to Shirley and her program.

As a 1st time mother, putting my child in daycare was a very hard decision, but in today's day and age staying home was not an option for me. Shirley made the transition for not only my daughter easy, but the transition for me was unrushed and very understanding. She was sure to send me pictures of my daughter and never made me feel like an overbearing mother while I acclimated to being a working Mom. She was always a great resource for all of my questions and concerns and always gave me comfort and peace of mind when I needed it.

My daughter has now been there for one year and she has learned so much at Taught a Lot - more than I would have ever imagined. I honestly cannot say enough good things about the staff. Their compassion, knowledge, teaching styles and unending dedication to not only the children in their care, but also to the families that belong to the children is unsurpassed. My daughter loves going there and that makes leaving her bearable.
We had a wonderful family like experience and cannot say enough about how the peace of mind we had with staff at Taught a lot. Shirley is like an aunt to every child. She loves and adores each and every one of them, as we all do her. Here long time experience working in early childhood education helped me as a parent over and over again.
I feel like I hit the jackpot when I found this place. We have had Shirley, the owner whom we refer to lovingly as Auntie care for both our girls. This center goes above and beyond what I ever expected. My girls learned socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually. The 1st priority there is always health and safety. My children learned sign language as infants. One daughter was signing up to 30 words by age 2!!! They were able to identify colors including some like magenta , shapes including some like trapezoid & hexagon , numbers, counting in English and Spanish and counting by 5's and 10's. This is a small sampling to explain the kinds of things they learned. Mostly my girls were loved like family and it continues now that they have "graduated" from this wonderful program. You should see the celebration given at the Graduation Party!!! Truly wonderful, can't say enough...they are truly " Taught A Lot"
