Middleburg Montessori School is a VAIS fully accredited school as well as an AMI recognized Montessori School that has served children, birth through 15 years of age, for over thirty-five years in the Middleburg community.

We help children develop into capable individuals by focusing on their moral, behavioral and emotional development in bilingual Montessori classrooms.

The Middleburg Montessori School was founded on and operates within the educational philosophy developed by Dr. Maria Montessori, who recognized and respected the natural interests and sensitive periods of learning present in children. The Montessori approach is centered on this respect for the child, on the development of the intrinsic curiosity, and on fostering independence, concentration, coordination, self confidence, and sense of order. The children work in various areas of the total curriculum, which includes practical life, sensorial, mathematics, language, geography, science, culture and movement.

Our children have received amazing care in the nurturing environment at MMS - and so much more! The curriculum is wonderful and we are amazed with what they learn... math and reading of course, but also music, geography, gardening, manners, and more. Most importantly they love it.

At Meadows Montessori school, we believe that learning is a journey! Begin that journey with us.
Montessori method, in a nutshell, is a joyful, child led adventure into learning. Movement, exploration and curiosity are the norm, rather than sitting and memorization. In addition to group sessions, each child is given individual lessons at his/her own pace.
The Primary classroom consists of children between the ages of 2.5 and 6 years old. Mixed age groups allow for older children to mentor younger ones. This creates a sense of community and family.
Our goal is to develop engaged and independent thinkers who embrace community, responsibility and leadership. Our certified teachers strive to inspire a joy of learning, academic success, intellectual excitement, emotional well-being, and creativity in every student. It is with confidence, joy, compassion and leadership that school students venture forth on their unique journeys to make a difference in the world.
The Montessori Method of education, developed by Dr. Maria Montessori, is a child-centered educational approach based on scientific observations of children from birth to adulthood. The first Montessori school the Casa dei Bambini, or Children's House was established in Rome on January 6, 1907. Dr. Montessori's Method has been time tested, with over 100 years of success in diverse cultures throughout the world.
The classroom is prepared by the teacher to encourage independence, freedom within limits, and a sense of order. The child, through individual choice, makes use of what the environment offers to develop himself, interacting with the teacher when support and/or guidance is needed.

We are a play based child care center. Where the child is respected, listened to and given many opportunities to investigate, create, explore and discover their passions. We incorporate all the learning domains during play: physical, social emotional, and cognitive. The content areas are incorporated too, mathematics, literacy, science, social studies, and language.
We don't use worksheets, pre-cut crafts or traditional flashcards. Your child will learn through process... not by product. We view the child as an investigator, not as a target of learning. We give the child opportunities to expand their knowledge and learning by asking, observing them and giving them the resources to know more.
We also believe in eating organic foods, fruits, dairy and vegetables are important in today's world. We have seen a change in behaviors, better immune systems, wiser food choices from the children at home and it just tastes better.
We also value community, culture, and diversity. We encourage our families to be a part of our school bringing in family pictures, volunteering, sharing a traditional dishes (Nut-Free), or just coming in and sharing what it is you do traditionally in your family. Parents are always welcome at Kozy Kids!
We would love for you to come take a tour and see.
