Our program is Eco-Friendly, so we want to emphasize the importance of children being outdoors so they may learn natural processes and become knowledgeable and appreciative of nature.
We do organic gardening. We compost our food scraps in compost bins and through vermi-composting. We do rainwater harvesting, and use grey-water to water the fruit trees. We have even gone solar!
We offer healthy meals and snacks. We provide foods that are minimally processed and mostly organic. We strive to follow The Environmental Working Group's, "Shoppers Guide To Pesticides in Produce". We serve "family" style.
It is great when we are able to eat what we have harvested from our trees and gardens!
We recognize each child as an unique individual. We seek to provide the most appropriate learning experience for your child by creating an environment that is child-guided and developmentally based. Our program provides children with the freedom of choice within structure, which encourages the development of problem-solving skills, self-reliance, and socialization. We believe that play is an important part of a child's day. When children play, they construct their own knowledge of the world, physically, cognitively, socially, and this is the most meaningful type of knowledge. By observing how and what type of play the children are engaged in, this helps us determine the activities and experiences to offer the children.

I am a Preschool Teacher and I am licensed by the State of California Department of Social Services to have a family daycare home. I am a provider affiliated with the YMCA Resource Service - Infant and Toddler program.

I attended Grossmont Community College where I gained ample knowledge in the Child Development field to be a qualified teacher and provider. I have been working with families for many years and my passion has always been to prepare them to love learning; to instill core values of Love, Respect, Patience, Hospitality. To cultivate their young hearts to implement confidence, independence and self-esteem and most importantly to create a safe and fun environment where children are viewed as an invaluable gift. I believe that a child who feels loved and valued will experience confidence and self-esteem.

I worked for 11 years with Commercial Day Care, and I felt that it was time for me to establish my preschool/day care in the comfort of my home. Safe Haven Family Preschool was created to be a support to parents and their children. It is a faith base program that offers God s love unconditionally. A child undergoes many transitions when being introduced for the first time to a day care or Kindergarten. I believe if you transition your child to a day care that offers low ratio of teacher/child, a warm home loving environment, indoor/outdoor play, small learning groups this child will thrive.

What better atmosphere of learning to have at an inviting home environment.

Our program has been in existence since 1962. The early years of a child's life are the most important in a child's developmental growth. We offer a developmentally age-appropriate program, which incorporates artistic creative expression, music and movement, social and emotional development, language stimulation, science exploration, physical activity, pre-math concepts, reading readiness skills and spiritual nurturing.

We believe children should learn in an environment with consistent limits where they are allowed to make choices. Children are encouraged to learn through play where they are given opportunities to create, explore, and learn problem solving and critical thinking skills. Our dedicated, experienced staff are ready to guide your child through these learning experiences.

It is our goal to provide a well-planned, developmentally age-appropriate program for children, in a Christian atmosphere, taught by qualified and dedicated teachers. Our goal is to assist children in learning how to solve problems, build self-confidence, cooperation and a wholesome spirit of independence with an emphasis on Christian concepts.

We provide a nurturing environment with a Christian and play-based philosophy. We serve children aged 2-5 years old in a developmentally appropriate program. Our daily routine includes; kindergarten readiness skills, circle time, art, gross and fine motor skills, science and math, in addition to, sensory and exploration activities. We have a low student-to-teacher ratio, and large classrooms with distinct learning centers.
