Seeking care for my mother in her 80s. Services needed: companionship, bathing / dressing, meal preparation, help staying physically active, transportation, light housekeeping, errands / shopping. No prior experience required. Specialized care needs: CPR/first aid training. Female caregiver preferred. A little more about my mother: she can be pleasant. Very intelligent, 86, still pretty sharp, watches TV and reads throughout the day. Gets worn out quickly. I'm looking for someone who is patient, chatty, quiet. Pleasant. Able to chat yet comfortable with silence. Able to help with easy lunch and dinner prep, light daily chores. Comfortable handling Mom if she's feeling cranky. (Not often.) Willing to ask questions yet confident to take initiative when needed. Help Mom with showering and possibly dressing if she's tired. Mom's husband of 58 years passed 2/1/17. She's happy, and mostly content, bus is basically home bound, happy to watch, news shows, and read. She's very anti-Trump and can be vocal about it. You don't have to agree, but you have to be able lo let it roll off if you don't agree. :D
She has 4 kids, three of us local who are very involved in her life but we work, so can't care for her on a daily basis, but you will see us often. She mostly needs help making lunch and dinner and sound light housekeeping. She's happy being along but the companionship is nice.
This job is perfect for CNAs taking courses as there's time for you to study. Also, please, no smokers.
