Hey! I am a college student and musician who is currently taking a gap year. I'm a multi-instrumentalist/singer who is studying production (I offer guitar and singing lessons). I am also taking cybersecurity courses at Purdue. I live in Georgetown with my roommate who is also a nanny. I have extensive experience caring for children of all ages- newborns to late-teens. Since a freshman in High School, I have cared and babysat for numerous families, neighbors, and friends. As well as my little brother who is 11. A typical day with me caring for your children will start with me getting them up/ready for the day and then making breakfast. I will then help them with any homework/assignments that need to be done. Afterwards, lunch will be made and we will do some fun activities/anything that you would like me to do with them. Afterwards, I will typically- depending on the age of the children- put them down for a nap. During this time I will tidy things up and prep for dinner.

As a senior in college, I am looking for part-time nanny work. For the past 5 months, I have worked with a family with 3 children. Two were enrolled in virtual learning, and the third, I developed and worked on preschool level lessons 3 days a week in New Jersey. My responsibilities included helping with school work, making meals, and providing fun, covid-safe activities during downtime. Before that, I have cared for 2 toddler-aged girls on a needed basis. I am proficient in French and used to live overseas in Francophone West Africa. During my freshman year, I worked at an elementary school's after school program and watched kids during after school hours a couple times a week. Unfortunately due to the Coronavirus, the program is not taking place this year. My current job at FoodCorps involves teaching garden science and nutrition lessons to students pre-K through 4th grade although I can teach just about anything. I am also comfortable tutoring high school but I am just not as comfortable with math depending on the year of high school.

While watching them, we played several games and did arts and crafts. I taught them how to play piano and gave them singing lessons. I would set up gardening activities for them outside and we would plant different types of flowers. I taught them how to bake cookies and showed them new ways of baking their favorite treats! During my time college, I tutored elementary-aged students in Northwest DC through the non-profit Youth Leadership Foundation. In addition to mentoring and facilitating discussions, I worked one-on-one students to tutor in math, reading, and writing. I also nannied for a private family whose children attended a bilingual immersion school. I assisted students with homework and created additional language opportunities. While on a Fulbright grant in Spain, I worked with 5 different families to offer English language tutoring in the home.
