I live alone in the Northampton Lathrop community and since a few weeks ago have been suffering from compression fractures in my vertebrae - they are extremely painful and come in spasms that can't be predicted. This condition has made me virtually immobile at times (unable to get out of chair, into bed, etc.) even though I am usually able to do normal daily tasks on my own, including driving. I need someone to help with basic tasks like heating up my dinner, getting my mail, helping with laundry, etc.

My mom, Janet is 74 years old and is currently battling terminal lung cancer. She was diagnosed over year ago and has managed to surpass lots of expectations. An unfortunate side effect of her chemotherapy was severe neuropathy which has led to complete loss of mobility in her legs. So she primarily passes time in bed, with some time in her wheelchair, and needs help with basic tasks like meal preparation, house cleaning, and some help to get to the commode at the end of her bed. Despite her situation, my mom is lively, funny and eager to connect. She enjoys playing cards. My brother lives with her. There is a 6mo puggle puppy in the house, so you would need to be comfortable with dogs. We are looking for someone kind, caring, and with a genuine interest in getting to know my mom and providing support for her family.

Seeking an aide for a flexible schedule position, ideally someone who can do both daytime & overnight shifts depending on need. Seeking someone who is trustworthy, patient, caring & proactive. Applicant must have dementia training or be willing to be trained, and be able to follow the care plan. Patient is an 86-year-old man with dementia. He walks with a walker, needs help with all daily tasks, especially staying busy with activities such as reading him books, exercising, helping him play music, listening to music, having conversations, cooking, etc. Day shifts would be Monday & Wednesday, overnight shifts would as needed, usually some Fridays, Mondays or Tuesdays. Schedule is 2-3 days per week, 16-24 hours depending on need. We offer competitive pay based on experience, and a positive & clean work environment.
