Pleasant retired professor looking for engaging, compassionate home health aides. 73-year-old client lives at home in Amherst with his wife and small dog. Chronic Lyme disease symptoms vary affecting his mobility, communication, alertness, and strength. Job responsibilities include assisting with ADLs including transfers, feeding, toileting (including bathroom transfer, hands on assistance and supervision), socialization, and light household duties such as laundry. Interaction with client provides great opportunity for nursing students and others to learn about tick borne illnesses, holistic and alternative treatments, g-tubes, and a variety of medical equipment. Currently looking to train new aides in April and May to sub for call outs and for long term job openings beginning in May and June.
