Seeking care for my father in his 80's. Services needed: bathing / dressing, meal preparation, medication prompting, mobility assistance. No prior experience required. Female caregiver preferred. A little more about my father: he can be pleasant, reserved. Dad is undemanding and usually very positive, but has dementia and vascular Parkinson's from several strokes since 2015. He can feed himself, but he needs help with everything else. We use a lift, wheelchair, and walker. I'm looking for someone who is patient, strong, fond of pets. Someone that is easygoing and flexible in different situations. My parents are in their 80's, and my mom will also be here during caregiver hours. So someone that would be willing to visit with her during the hours dad doesn't need help would be ideal. Because of his vascular Parkinson's, dad sleeps until noon-1 everyday. However, on rare occasions he wakes up at 11, so that's why we ask caregivers to be here at 10. Dad needs help getting up, bathed, dressed. Then given medications and breakfast. He then needs only monitoring while he's reading the paper, etc. Occasionally we will take him for walk in his wheelchair. After he's done reading, he goes to his chair in family room. Other than that, he may need a snack and occasionally another time to the bathroom.
