I have a BA in Interdisciplinary Child Development, I am certified to teach K-8, and have 8 years of nanny experience. I am working towards my master's of Science in Education with a concentration on curriculum and instruction, and am pursuing a full time teaching position for this fall. My hope is to find full time employment as a nanny for the summer. I have experience ranging from newborns to school age children, and I am just finishing this school year as a long-term substitute teacher in a Special Education room in a School District.
As a parent myself, I have read many popular books and am well informed on the latest parenting trends and studies. I consider myself an expert baby food maker! I am also familiar with sleep/nap/feeding patterns for all stages of infancy. I have a 4-year-old son, who I would like to bring to work with me. This situation worked out very well with my previous families, since the children were able to be role models, have daily companionship, and the socialization necessary to share and take turns on a daily basis. I believe that one of the best activities I can do with young children is get them out of the house and to see the world around them! I spend a lot of time researching local kid friendly events and activities to do on a daily basis, but also understand the importance of developmentally appropriate activities at home. My goal is to make sure the children I care for become well-rounded, polite, bright, happy individuals who have a thirst for the world around them. Thank you for taking the time to read about me!
