Coming Summer 2021: We proudly announce the launch of our exclusive, luxury, "Kid Concierge" Service.

Our mission is to provide our children with a safe environment, outstanding personal care and love, and exceptional educational development opportunities.
The HK Institute for Wonder & Play is a half day, year-round, AMI Montessori / Certified Member/ Reggio Emilia Educational Enrichment Program that provides private learning & 1-to-1 Educational Services (tutoring, OT, PT, parent consulting, curriculum consulting, etc.). These services are provided through an individualized model that offers both academic support, socio-emotional health and extracurricular guidance to a boutique, play-based, student centered learning environment that provides students with all of the unique tools and traditions of both Montessori and Reggio Emilia, in the comfort and safety of your home. For children Elementary aged, we provide educational and social engagement in a way that allows for the continuation of the benefits of a traditional school experience in a more personalized and dynamic micro-school model. The goal of the institute is to provide a structured program in a "Whole Child" environment to best foster the academic, social, and physical development of the young child.
Guiding Principles:
Children Are Born Curious
We believe that children have a hundred languages in which to express themselves; from birth they are eager to learn and relate to their world. At The Institute these languages are all facilitated to allow children to explore and construct relationships, knowledge and identity. Curiosity is nurtured in this way to form an early love for learning that fosters and supports future higher-level thinking.

Three cheers for the unsung heroes of this pandemic that are the wonderful souls who have saved our children, specifically Miss HK. Miss HK , the founder & CEO of the HK Institute embodies exactly what I believe all parents of young children truly dream for in terms of someone to educate their child , pandemic or not. Taking into account that The HK Institute opened their doors, hearts and personal cell phone numbers to anyone and everyone in need in perfect synchronicity with the schools closing nationwide - it was clear from the from the start that Miss HK was someone who was involved purely from the goodness of her heart and her love of her "nuggets" as she lovingly refers to all her students. Hailing from the Ivy League halls of Columbia University & the sunny streets of Sesame Street - Miss HK's progressive vision and approach to education is not one that you will have the chance to come in contact with many times in life. Her brilliance is only outweighed by her kindness. In regards to program structure she has meticulously created a magical little enclave that is rooted deeply in the concept of inclusive education, multiple intelligences, undivided attention to all details , differentiated instruction and diverse curriculum theories ( *reggio & Montessori & TC reading and writing project ) . To sum it up when signing up for the HK Institute you will get all of the rich academic content of any rival private prep school but along with that you also get a personalized education plan that includes everything from mindfulness morning meditation paddle boarding , assistive technology & learning disability support, personal chefs and there is rumor to be an emotional support pony in the pipeline. It sounds like I'm joking but knowing that my children now have the gumption and guidance of Miss HK & the HK Institute running the show - I am confident anything is possible from academics and beyond. Don't hesitate to lock down a spot as this isn't going to stay such a well kept secret for much longer.

World of Children

484 Second Ave Floor 2, New York, NY

Costimate: $256/wk

At World of Children, each child receives an education that is individually created specifically for him/her. Our programs are constantly reflected on and updated by our Directors and Teachers to offer maximum support and care for each child.
Our schools use specially developed Montessori Resources which are easy to use and are suited specifically for your child's age. Our materials actually encourage self-control while inviting children to reflect on how to improve. Your child's teachers are guides and facilitators who do not need to play the traditional teacher-role of judge, jury, and dispenser of all information, instead, children identify their skills and where and how they can grow. This strategy helps to preserve their sense of self-esteem and belief in the fact that learning is sometimes messy ...and that is a good thing.

We offer many different flexible options in terms of our hours of availability. Generally, we are open from 8:30-6:00 Monday through Friday.

We have activated a host of safety precautions and protocols to ensure that your child's tie with us will be one where health and safety are paramount!

World of Children -Montessori is a great daycare center! Our son adores his incredible teachers (Ms. Inna who speaks fluently Russian, Hebrew, and English, and Ms. Stephanie). We are very grateful to them for his social, academic, and physical development. He knows the alphabet, writes his name, counts to 20, knows all seasons/months/days of the week, and he is not even 4 years old. There is a private gated playground where kids safely play during breaks. As working parents we appreciate convenient location (Manhattan, Kips Bay) and flexible hours (8:30-30pm or 8:30-6pm). We feel absolutely safe to leave our child at the daycare under the professional supervision of caring and loving teachers. Highly recommend !

Little Ivies Prep's Photo

Little Ivies Prep

520 West End Ave, New York, NY

Costimate: $263/wk

Welcome to Little Ivies Prep! Here at Little Ivies, we are committed to making each day a learning day, filled with a variety of centers and activities that help our early learners discover what interests and inspires them while also ensuring they have the necessary readiness for school and academics. We pride ourselves on providing a stellar preschool education, a unique ratio of teachers to children, with upscale amenities and service, in a warm, nurturing environment. It is our belief that all children are enthusiastic learners, actively seeking information. It is our job as their first school teachers to ensure they build a strong foundation that facilitates a lifetime of learning by encouraging their exploration and inquisitive nature in addition to exposing them to structured lesson plans in a fun and imaginative way.

NYC is a highly competitive environment, we strive to provide our children with the tools necessary to take on the rigors of most kindergarten and first grade programs in the area and it is our goal to exceed the expectations of each family that entrusts us with the care and early education of their child. Our program is designed to encourage parent involvement and we believe that families are particularly important during the preschool years having long-lasting positive effects on children's academic performance, emotional development and overall well-being.

My children have attended Little Ivies since they were each around 3 months old. As my son heads off to kindergarten this fall and we tearfully say goodbye to Little Ivies, I thought it would be a good time to reflect on our years there and share a review. We have had an amazing experience at Little Ivies. We've loved the facility, the people, the program, and the owner/director. The space is so charming and absolutely perfect for children 0-5, and is kept immaculately clean. The care for the younger children is incredible - the babies are so loved by the director and entire staff, not only their main teacher. They do fantastic activities, have the cutest little gym (it may look small, but the 0-2yos who use it universally adore it!), go for neighborhood walks, and spend time in the facility's charming private backyard (so perfect with Covid). As the children get a little older, they continue to have warm, loving caregivers, and also start learning more formally. Given the small class sizes, the teachers have been able to go well beyond the traditional daycare or preschool curriculum, while still incorporating loads of music, movement, arts, and play throughout the day. Now at 5, my almost-kindergartener has amazing relationships, reads very well, and has loads of incredible memories of a lifetime-to-date at Little Ivies. Every teacher has been phenomenal -- hiring amazing people is one of the director's many talents -- and we are so grateful for each and every one of them. We recommend the program wholeheartedly.
