About

Walnut Street Daycare Center opened in August 2011. It is a licensed facility, meeting or exceeding all of the standards set by the Department of Child and Family Services. D.C.F.S, the DeKalb County Health Department, IL State Food Program and theState Fire Marshall make regular monitoring visits to our Center. We are members of the Genoa Chamber of Commerce and 4-C. Walnut Street Daycare Center was created to meet the increasing need for quality child care in the growing Genoa and surrounding areas. Our main intent is to provide a safe, loving and enriching program for children ranging from 6 weeks up to 12 years of age. The Center is owned and run by families in and around the surrounding community. Here at the Center we voluntarily participate in and are a part of ExceleRate Illinois. We are a Silver Circle of Quality. This is a statewide quality rating and improvement system designed to make continuous quality improvement an everyday priority among early learning providers. The program establishes standards for helping infants, toddlers, and preschool age children develop intellectually, physically, socially and emotionally. It provides a framework for early learning professionals to identify opportunities for improvement, increase their skills and take steps to make positive changes. ExceleRate Illinois recognizes early learning providers for their ongoing efforts to improve the quality of their care by awarding a Circle of Quality. We, Walnut Street Daycare Center, are in the Silver Circle of Quality.Read more
