Enthusiastic, Fun Nanny Available Full-Time
I grew up in Atlantic Beach Florida, a small beach town in Northeast Florida outside of Jacksonville where I babysat for lots and lots of friends and neighbors. In Atlantic Beach, I also was a nanny for three summers full time when I was home from college one family with three girls, ages 5, 9 and 12, the other with girls 7 and 9. There was everything from morning swim practices, play dates, kindergarten orientation, learning the proper way to apply eyeliner, lots of overnight stays when mom was out of town, etc. Both families were total delights and completely enriching experiences. I also spent a significant amount of time with a baby from when she was 5 months till she was 2. I spent my freshman year of college and then transferred. I have a degree in Communication with an emphasis in Media Studies and was also a member of a sorority.
After graduating, I worked as an account manager/media planner at an advertising agency in New York City and lived on the Lower East Side for two years. In the LES my demo changed a bit and I babysat a group of younger boys, ages 5, 6 and 7 as well as a 10-month-old baby boy. I picked them up from school, fed them dinners, helped with homework, bath time, story time, you know, the works. New York was a very enriching and character building experience but it s also a very challenging place to live so after two hard winters I was ready for some California sunshine. One of my best friends from college who was working in lobbying in Washington DC and I decided to come out to LA together so now we are here and absolutely LOVING it. I will have to be dragged out of here
Currently I am doing marketing and business development for a structural engineering firm downtown but I have new aspirations: I am readying myself for nursing school. I am currently taking prerequisite classes at night. I want to be around and experience kiddies as much as possible to prepare for a future career as a labor and delivery nurse practitioner. I have a very minimum of a year and half or possibly two years of prerequisite classes to complete before I can apply for a master's program in nursing.
This said I am looking for a minimum of a year and a half commitment with one family whom I can be very involved with and an integral part of the children's lives and feel like a member of the family.
