Hello! My name is Amery. I am a 29yr. old fiance to my BEST friend and a mother of the most wonderful, beautiful, big hearted 8yr. old little girl ever! Currently I am a P/T childcare worker & P/T residential home cleaner. I enjoy my job and while it may pay the bills it's still not exactly the dream I've had since the very first time I was asked, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" My answer was always and still is, "to help people who are less fortunate and/or those who cannot help themselves." My passion since childhood has always been to make a difference in the quality of life of others, whether it be a child, elderly person or simply just someone with a terminal illness. Therefore in 2005 I was thrilled to be hired at The Diocesan Catholic Children's Home. I finally felt like I was moving in the right direction. Unfortunately after one year there, with relationships built with children I became so very attached to, my parents became very ill and I had no choice but to part ways with my 1st. dream job so that I could take care of my father first, and then soon after my mother. I took a CNA course so that I could learn the proper way to care for multiple different disabled or elderly people, especially since my mother was a paraplegic. After 1yr. of extensive caring for my father he lost his fight & went with the Lord in 2006. Just 2 and a half yrs later my mother also gained her wings. Although our time together on earth was short, I sleep knowing I did everything I could do make their journey to heaven the absolute best it could be and never resorted to an Residential Care Home. I know first hand the importance of proper care for the disabled, sick & elderly and just as important the quality of care to give them while sharing your heart & love in everything you do for them & always remembering how hurtful and hard it is for them to accept help from a stranger which is why it's very important to establish a friendship first and become a friend & family member for them along with the rest of their family. That being said, I would be honored to become an extra set of hands, heart, support and love for your loved one...
