Bellevue Sunshine Child Care

Starting at $1700/mo

Quality care is what drives me at Bellevue Sunshine, a green, carbon-neutral and licensed family home child care. My facility focuses on professional child care in a wonderful home setting. It gives parents the best of both worlds - the comfort and flexibility of being in a home child care and the professional side that named child care centers provide. Operations at Bellevue Sunshine are completely digital with sign-in/sign-out, billing and daily schedule updates all done electronically.

Bellevue Sunshine enrolls relatively few children to maintain the quality bar as compared to many other facilities. I have one of the lowest child to teacher ratios. Children are only enrolled on a monthly basis and there are no drop-ins. This ensures that all enrolled children get consistent quality care. Having no drop-ins also limits exposure of children to germs.

Variety food is served as per FNS USDA guidelines so you never have to worry about sending food with your child. This applies to all age groups including infants where I provide the infant formula of your choice. There is no additional cost for this.

Please note that rates posted are for full time care. Infant rates apply for children below 1 year of age. Toddler rate applies for children between 1-2 years of age. Pre-school rate applies for children above 2 years of age.

We can't believe it's been three years since our son became part of Bellevue Sunshine!!! The journey was so smooth that time just flew and it seems like yesterday. The effort that Vandana and team put on the kids and the individual attention and care that kids get at the facility helps them learn and develop required skills and grow. We are lucky that our son got an opportunity to be part of the childcare...Kudos to Bellevue sunshine team as I see my tiny baby grown up creative, friendly, shows care and respect to others, has moral values and I can just go on writing... In short, he has learnt everything that parents expect and even more, with the love and care he received here. Not just my son, but during my last 3 years relation with Bellevue Sunshine, I have seen many children at the facility transform into happy kids and it's all because of the care and attention Vandana and team give to the kids.. with so much patience...

We are excited to have you join our school community. Our school is founded on being an affordable yet thorough welcoming environment that fosters a lifelong love of learning in your children.

Our teachers are trained and experienced. Ms. Cheryl is a certified teacher for early education in Washington State and Ms. Rachel has completed her bachelor work at the University of Washington in Early Education and Family Studies. Ms. Michaela has a certification for early education in Germany and brings her experience with different cultures to our school. We also pride ourselves on the integration of learning programs such as Project-based, Montessori, and Reggio Emilia methods, which focus on child-driven education. Our teachers bring their experiences with these different programs into one cohesive curriculum. Our program helps your child build upon what they have previously learned and each child will be given individual and group lessons in core areas such as reading and writing, math, geography, self-help skills, science, German, and other subjects.

The current kindergarten learning environment with Common Core standards puts pressure on families that are concerned about an easy preschool-kindergarten transition. Our solution was to create a quality curriculum that is rich with tactile, visual, and auditory experiences that will foster a love of learning.

Garden Ridge Preschool will support learning in all the important developmental domains for early childhood education in addition to preparing your child for the transition into kindergarten and beyond. We look forward to caring for your child and for your family. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to our teachers.

Note: This is a 20 hour per week preschool. When comparing programs to see what is best for your child, take into consideration how many hours your children are learning. We follow the B School district calendar of 194 day school year. Your annual tuition of 8800.00 breaks down to 11.34/hour!

Kiddin' Around Childcare

2021 144th Ave NE, Bellevue, WA

Starting at $250/session

In addition to snuggles and hugs, your child will learn through intentional play based activities. We help them safely test limits, wipe tears as they discover gravity, and offer reassurance as they begin to understand an occasional failure is a necessary part of future success.
At Kiddin' Around we encouraging your child to explore curiosities and discover new interests. Your child is encouraged to identify a sense of who they perceive themselves as today, and how they envision themselves tomorrow. As likes/dislikes are respected, and strengths/challenges are supported, your child begins to build the confidence and self-esteem needed to ask the 'why' and 'how' questions relevant to them. We provide your child with opportunities to cultivate a solid sense of "self" and discover the amazing 'ME' they're becoming. Your child will learn to trust themselves; their instinct, their intelligence, their abilities, and to value their individuality.
I've asked kindergarten teachers, what skills they would like children to have prior to entering the classroom. They unanimously agree, although ABC's and 123's are always a priority, the higher priorities introduction to the basics; sharing, taking-turns and negotiating; following age appropriate instructions; ability to transition; recognize their name; zip coats; tie shoes; and the ever so important, 'braids are for looking pretty, not for pulling!'
As parents, you may have a 'mental checklist' of preschool expectations. I'd like to challenge you to set that image aside; close your eyes and remember your favorite activity as a 4 y/o. Was it baking cookies, or building the highest block tower? Ask yourself if as a 4 y/o, you'd rather have learned the alphabet by writing lessons or by mixing cookie dough, shaping, baking, frosting and eating the alphabet?! Would 4 y/o you rather count pegs on a board or oversized blocks as they reached the moon and again as they toppled over? Learning organically through play is so much more fun! And your child's retention of their new knowledge/skill has been reinforced with happiness and fun! This is the core of our program and method of teaching. Yes, we play all day, but we play with guidance, purpose and intent! (OK...you can open your eyes now ;-)
