Hearty Homestead

14241 161st Ave Se, Renton, WA

Starting at $700/mo

We run 2 half day programs from 8-12pm and 1-5pm.

From digging in the garden to yoga in the rain your children will thrive with the opportunity to move freely around our huge backyard lot and neighboring parks.

The "Playground": Our backyard is about acre of land for exploring! There are climbing structures, balance beams, slides, sandboxes, water tables, and an art area.

The Carport: 250 sq. ft. serving as a gathering spot for outdoor activities, riding tricycles, daily meals and snacks and a covered extension to our classroom.

The Classroom: Our converted garage is the perfect space to host indoor activities! When the weather is less than ideal or cooperative we will have the room complete with puzzles, books, blocks, stuffed animals, a kitchen set, and many more. The children will have plenty of free play here. This area is also where all of your children's items for the day will be stored(i.e. rain jackets, water bottles, spare clothes)

The Garden: In several areas of the yard there are raised garden beds, collectively over 200 sq. ft. Gardening is huge at Hearty Homestead! Many of our days will be garden focused. We will learn what plants thrive best in the PNW, plant seeds year round, harvest and cultivate our produce!

The Animals: Where do we start?! In my eyes no home is complete without a furry companion. Here at the homestead we have 2 dogs: Mac the Border Collie and Maya the Golden Retriever. They will be inside the majority of the day, however there will be some interaction between them and the preschoolers. In addition, there are 4 cats, 4 ducks, 17 chickens, and a rabbit. Since we live in an urban area you may catch some other wildlife as well!

We are a Certified Wildlife Habitat committed to the protection, restoration, transformation and conservation across the Nation. That being said, some activities your child may engage in are feeding, watering, petting, and attending to the animals.

Costimate: $277/wk

After School Athlete's After School Enrichment programs are roughly half athletic and half academic in nature. Kids are provided a caring, nurturing, healthy environment to learn and develop socially, physically, and mentally. Designed by a brain doctor and UW professor, and his wife a math and science teacher, programming is everything you would want your kid(s) to be doing.

Sports include competitive soccer, dodge ball, handball, basketball, kickball, yoga, Zumba, cross-fit, among other physical education activities.

Academic programming includes supervised time to do homework, gamified learning on tablets, "Brain Games" like chess, problem-solving based math and science projects, group or free reading time on tablets, and "Curious Questions." Where there is demand, optional formal tutoring, English as a Second Language (ESL), and Spanish for English speakers can be made available for an additional fee.

Programming begins when school's dismissed and end at 6PM.

As a program, we strive to be all you could hope your child to experience before and after school. Helping your kids do well on their homework, explore their academic curiosities, and participate in competitive sports. Then when you pick your kids up at the end of your day, you don't have to worry about time helping them with their homework, taking them to additional sport-related or academic extracurricular (at an additional expense), but instead can focus on quality time with your family knowing they have an enriched childhood. Maybe you'll even have time to eat dinner together around a table and enjoy hearing your child's daily adventures. What a worthwhile, quality investment in your child's future.
